Thank you for considering Hypertxt Mobile as your Mobile Marketing partner! To ensure the very best outcome of your mobile promotion, please familiarize yourself with our guide and best practices.

Why should my business use SMS marketing?

There are many reasons but some of the key reasons are consumers are always connected to their mobile device, SMS campaigns have very high open & response rates, campaigns are low cost, and the boom of the Smartphone now allows brands to tap into mobile commerce and business opportunities that used to be nonexistent.

Who will create and manage my SMS campaigns?

Hypertxt allows customers to have full control of their campaign creation and execution through our user interface. Hypertxt also provides full account management upon request and has support available 7 days a week.

How does SMS marketing work?

Most SMS Marketing programs consist of integrating a Shortcode and keyword promotion into your advertising, such as “Text BUY to 313131.” When consumers see the ad they will respond via text message to instantly receive Bounce-back message with your offer, info, and even a link to your mobile website. After a response the consumer’s mobile number will be automatically added to your database for future, permission based messaging.

How do we collect mobile numbers?

Mobile numbers can be collected when consumers respond to your Shortcode & Keyword promotion and/or when consumers sign up via our mobile subscription Widget on your website. This is called an “Opt-in.”

What Shortcode can we use?

The Shortcode used by Hypertxt mobile is “313131.” Our clients all share this Shortcode. If your company owns a Shortcode we can manage your mobile campaigns for you if you do not have the resources to do so.

How do I select a Keyword?

Keywords relevant to your business or company are of critical importance to your mobile promotions. Most mobile marketers use their company name, product name, offer name, or title of a promotion as their keyword. Keywords should be simple and be easy to spell, understand, and remember. When using a shared Shortcode, some generic keyword such as “Win” or “Buy” may not be available so it helps to use a work specific to your brand when possible. Keywords pertaining to illegal drugs or related to any other illegal activity will not be accepted by the Carriers.

How do we create a successful campaign?

The key component to creating successful SMS campaigns is providing offer that are exciting to the consumer. Offers can be in the form of a free prize, a great discount, and/or exclusive information. Typically the stronger the offer is the better the response by consumers. When considering sending out text alerts, put yourself in the shoes of the consumer and ask, “Would I want to receive this message on my phone?”

What information should appear in our promotional copy?

The copy in your ads and marketing materials should include the Shortcode, Keyword, offer, and disclaimer. The copy should be kept as short and precise as possible so the consumer clearly understands the offer and knows how to respond. The disclaimer should state, “Message & Data rates may apply.”

What is a Bounce-back message?

Bounce back messages are what the consumer will receive when they respond to the mobile promotion in your ads. Carrier policy requires that a bounce-back message be automatically sent to all respondents of your campaign and include confirmation that they have “Opt-in” to your campaign.

How long can a text message be and what should it include?

This copy can be NO LONGER than 160 characters including spaces, cannot contain any special characters (@,#, $, &, %, ~, etc.), and must include the option to “Opt-out” such as “To QUIT reply STOP.”

How do we send out Text Alerts and how often should we send them out?

Once you provide copy to us, we will send out the alerts on your behalf. In most cases, Hypertxt recommends that clients NOT send more than one text alert per week to avoid annoyance of the consumer and “opt-outs” of your program.

If we want to use our website to collect numbers, can we do that?

Yes, your website is a great place to collect mobile numbers. Hypertxt Mobile has a web
widget that we can place on your website for subscriber sign ups, which we automatically add to your mobile database.

How do we integrate with our media & advertising?

Your mobile promotion can and should be integrated into any media used by your company including Transit, print, radio, TV, outdoor, flyers, social media, signage, and your website. With the exception of major brands and publishers, without media integration most mobile campaigns will lack any substantial volume.

How do we measure results and can we see reports?

We give our clients access to a private user interface where responses can be viewed by date, time, number, and message plus Opt-ins, Opt-outs, and more. You may also measure ROI by tracking orders via coupons codes, call tracking, web traffic & conversions, and more.

How do consumers Opt-out?

Consumers can Opt-out of your program by simply replying to a message with “STOP” and your keyword. Hypertxt Mobile will never spam users that have not Opt-in and will not continue to message consumers that have Opt-out.

I have a list of cell numbers from our database, can we send messages to these people?

No, you cannot message anyone unless they have specifically Opt-in to your mobile program.

Once someone has Opt-in, can we call them?

Yes, but only if the consumer has Opt-in to a program that specifically asks if they are open to receiving a phone solicitation from your company.

How do we select the right messaging package & what happens if we go over our message allotment?

Hypertxt has four main packages to choose from but we can always create a custom package for you. The right package depends how the volume of messaging you expect to use, which is directly related to the type media you integrate with and the size of that audience. If you exceed your message credits there is 5 cent charge per message.

Can we keep the mobile numbers we acquire and use them later?

Yes, we can provide you with a spreadsheet of your subscribers. Hypertxt does not sell or share our clients subscriber lists in any way.

Does Hypertxt Mobile have contracts?

Hypertxt Mobile does not require contracts, in most cases. However, we do require a minimum 3 Month agreement per new client. If you exceed your message credits, you can always upgrade your package at any time.
